The BMW E36 M3 3.0 is the aboriginal BMW Motorsport (later alleged BMW M) adaptation of the E36 3 Series. Available as a coupe, convertible or sedan,
it uses one of two 3.0-liter S50 engines, both based to some amount on the accepted assembly M50 powerplant. The European S50 has alone burke bodies and a added circuitous butt head, while the U.S.-spec S50 added carefully resembles the accustomed assembly M50 engine.
